Cat and Kitten Wellness in Allen

Country Creek Animal Hospital is proud to be a Certified Cat Friendly Practice

Kitten and Adult Health Care

At Country Creek Animal Hospital, we are dedicated to maintaining your cat’s health at every age. Beginning with vaccinations and physical examinations, our team offers a number of services tailored your cat or kitten's specific needs. In the event of an emergency, our Allen veterinary clinic also offers full service emergency and critical care.

Prior to your cat’s wellness exam, note any severe changes that have occurred with your pet including: vomiting, diarrhea, coughing, weight gain/loss, excessive thirst, or increased aggression. If your pet is experiencing any of these symptoms or has developed any abnormal behavior since their last wellness exam, please inform our veterinarians and support staff.

During your pet's wellness exam we can perform:

  • Complete Dental Exam
  • Full-body Physical Exam
  • Heartworm and Blood Parasite Screenings
  • Intestinal Parasite/Fecal Screenings
  • Early Detection Screenings (blood and urine screenings to evaluate status of organ function)
  • Radiographs/Diagnostic Imaging

Age Appropriate Care for Every Feline

As your kitten matures into a cat, their health needs change. While preventive care for kittens emphasizes vaccinations and parasite prevention, adult cats require more extensive preventive treatments such as heart monitoring and feline leukemia screenings to keep them healthy throughout adulthood.

At Country Creek Animal Hospital, we offer age-appropriate care beginning at seven-eight weeks. During this initial visit, our experienced veterinary team will conduct a comprehensive physical examination as well as begin heartworm and other parasite prevention treatment. Our Allen vets will also sit down with the pet owners to discuss at-home care as well as what to expect during your kitten’s first weeks. From discussing nutrition and proper feeding to covering territorialism and socialization, the Doctors are here to answer any questions and concerns you may have about keeping your kitten healthy and happy.

Once your kitten has transitioned into full adulthood, more comprehensive treatments may be needed in order to keep them healthy. In addition to preventive care, our full service veterinary clinic offers comprehensive medical, dental, and surgical procedures for cats. By using state-of-the-art instruments during the diagnostic and treatment phases, your pet receives comprehensive, specialized care at the hands of experienced professionals.

Comfortable Care at Every Visit

At our Allen veterinary clinic, we believe that creating a comfortable environment for your pet during treatment is just as important as the care they receive. To ensure your cat’s visit to Country Creek Animal Hospital is as stress free as possible, all cat procedures are performed in our cat-only examination area.

During more extensive medical, dental, or surgical procedures, we offer anesthesia for cats. Administered by trained professionals, your cat is closely monitored by our dedicated veterinary technician to ensure they are safely sedated during their procedure. Following treatment, we provide owners with anti-inflammatory and pain medications to keep your cat calm and comfortable throughout the healing process.
