Meet the Doctors

Daryl Mensik, DVM, Owner

Lollie Mensik, DVM, Owner

The Mensik Family

Drs. “Daryl P.” and Lollie Mensik are the owners and veterinarians here at Country Creek Animal Hospital.  They have 2 children and a house full of four-legged and furry kiddos.  They have 1 dog: Aggie, a Golden Retriever Mix that loves to go to work everyday.  They also have 3 cats named  Swiper, Kip, and Lewis (affectionately known as Squish).  On a side note, all the pets in the Mensik Household are rescues!

Dr. Daryl is originally from Houston, TX.  He studied Animal Science/Pre-Veterinary Medicine at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2001.  He was accepted to the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Program at Texas A&M University and graduated in 2005.  He also attended the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University where he received a Master of Business Administration in 2006.

Prior to opening Country Creek Animal Hospital, Dr. Daryl worked in an array of different professional settings including equine, general practice, and emergency.

Although Dr. Daryl really enjoyed his time and experience at other veterinary hospitals, he really wanted to accomplish a professional goal that he had set for himself. He wanted to build and own his very own clinic and provide a level of care and service unmatched in the Allen/Fairview/Plano/McKinney/Frisco/Propsper areas. That dream finally came true with the opening of Country Creek Animal Hospital in 2011.

Dr. Lollie is originally from St. Louis, MO, but moved around and spent her teenage years in Plano, TX. She went to Texas Wesleyan University on a scholarship to play NCAA basketball. After 2 years she transferred to Texas A&M to finish her Bachelor degree in Biomedical Sciences. After 1 year she was accepted to the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Program at Texas A&M University and graduated in 2006.

After graduation Dr. Lollie started working at Stonebriar Veterinary Centre in Frisco, TX. She spent 9 1/2 years there, prior to joining her husband at Country Creek Animal Hospital. Her interests include dentistry, surgery, client education, senior care and overall making great relationships with clients and their pets. Dr. Lollie joined the practice full time in 2016.

Drs. Daryl and Lollie hope that you’ll stop in and check out their beautiful facility and experience their unique approach to "Country Friendly Pet Care". They look forward to meeting you and your pets and becoming trusted advisors in their care and well-being. Feel free to call our office at 972-649-6777 or email us at info@countrycreekvets.com if you have any questions or inquiries.

Paige Wenaas, DVM, Associate Veterinarian

Dr Paige Wenaas

Dr. Wenaas has wanted to be a veterinarian since she was a young child and had to leave her beloved best friend, a Sheltie named Lady, at the animal hospital for surgery. She initially wanted to be the one who got to stay with her, instead of having to leave her behind to receive care. However, once she picked her up after surgery, took her home, and saw how much better she felt, she became determined to be the person who could make all of our four-legged friends feel better.

Thankfully, she had a very supportive family that let her escape her Sooner upbringing to go to Texas A&M University and follow her dream.  Dr. Wenaas spent eight great years in College Station working through her undergraduate degree as well as her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine.

She met her husband, Christopher, while she was in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Program and while he was completing a Masters in Engineering.  After graduation, they moved to the Frisco area where they both found great career opportunities. Dr. Wenaas and her husband have been blessed with two wonderful children, whom they love to watch enjoy life and play sports.  She was fortunate enough, when they were young, to have the opportunity to work at the Emergency Animal Hospital of Collin County, where she worked for 7 years.

During her time at the EAHCC, she was given the opportunity to become familiar with what makes an exceptional day practice, as she worked closely with those in the area to provide emergency/critical care to their patients. She then decided to make the transition from emergency care to a general practice. She has since worked at clinics in both Plano and Frisco before joining the team here at Country Creek Animal Hospital.

Dr. Wenaas is the proud owner of two dogs, Lily, a darling Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, and a handsome Labrador Retriever named Moose. And of course, she also has an adorable kitty named Banks.

Dr. Wenaas values the relationships that develop between a client and their veterinarian and enjoys being a part of that special bond between a client and their pet. She joined the practice in 2020, but has been a veterinarian for more than 22 years. She has also previously worked with both Drs. Daryl and Lollie Mensik. Dr. Wenaas is delighted to be able meet you and become a trusted part of the team that cares for your pets.

Delaney Torti, DVM, Associate Veterinarian

Dr Delaney Torti

Dr. Delaney is from Frisco, Texas where she grew up with a multitude of pets from dogs and cats to horses, rabbits, and lizards! Through her pets, she had the chance to work and shadow under the Mensiks and it was here that she dreamed of one day working with them!

Dr. Delaney received her bachelor’s degree in Biology at Baylor University where she graduated magna cum laude before attending the school of veterinary medicine at The University of Georgia where she also graduated magna cum laude, along with being in the top 25% of her class. Her Texas roots called her home and after graduation Dr. Delaney returned to DFW to be close to family and work under the mentorship of the Mensiks.

Dr. Delaney met her fiancé, Clayton, at Baylor and they have a wedding planned for October of 2023. She has a rescue Lab/Pitbull mix named Bracken who she adopted as a freshman at Baylor. He has been her study buddy through both undergraduate and veterinary school and will even be walking down the aisle at her wedding! Dr. Delaney also grew up showing horses on the hunter/jumper circuit and has two horses, Hank, and Conner, who are both retired from the show circuit and are wonderful companions. Outside of work, Dr. Delaney enjoys spending time with her fiancé, dog and horses, reading, and trying new coffee shops!

Dr. Delaney’s veterinary interests are animal behavior, senior care, internal medicine, and client education. She looks forward to starting her first job as a veterinarian under wonderful mentorship and can’t wait to meet you and your four-legged family members!
